Ways YOU Can Help
The work and mission of Brides Miracle Network is to inspire the Spirit of Kindness and Philanthropy in women across the U.S. and around the world. To embrace making a difference in those whose lives they touch each day – paying it forward – the only way they can – One Bride At A Time!
Brides-to-be around the world are encouraged to use planning their wedding as an opportunity to make a donation on behalf of their upcoming nuptials, to the charity of their choice. There are several ways this goal and the mission of making a difference can be accomplished.
1) Set a small tent card on each table, with the inscription, “In lieu of wedding favors, a donation has been made in our guests honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. (insert your favorite charity) Thank you for sharing ‘Our Wedding Day’ with us!”
2) When sending wedding communications, such as “Save the Date” cards, “Wedding Invitations” and “Thank You” cards, use the Breast Cancer Research Stamp. This stamp is available at your local U.S Post Office, and costs 10 cents more than regular postage stamps.
To date, over 950 million research stamps have been sold, raising over 80 million dollars in the search for a breast cancer cure. If only 10% of the brides in America were to use the research stamp when planning their wedding, it is estimated that an additional 6.7 million dollars could be raised each year to help stamp out breast cancer! Imagine if we could double, triple or quadruple that number of brides catching a glimpse of the possibility! Together, we will make it happen! A cure in our lifetime, and for the lifetimes of our children and grandchildren! Now add millions of brides around the world, each claiming
the mission as their own!
3) For the couple who has everything – and prefer no gifts be given as wedding presents; a small message included in their invitation might state – Please no gifts! But if you insist, a donation of any amount made to your favorite charity in honor of our wedding day would be greatly appreciated by those who will benefit from your kindness and generosity.
4) Tell your friends who are planning their weddings what you are doing, and why! Help spread the Spirit of Kindness and Philanthropy to all those you know.
5) When buying gifts for your wedding attendants, consider each carefully. Give earth friendly items, or articles that make a statement you agree with. For instance, for the ladies in your wedding party, you might give “FEEDBAGS” or “FEEDPEACE BAGS” – Be sure to explain “why” you have chosen a particular gift item, and encourage your friends to learn more about your favorite causes, in hopes they might catch your enthusiasm and begin to share their cause with others around them!
6) In honor or in memory of a loved one unable to be with you on your wedding day, plant a tree that will grow tall and strong, giving off life giving oxygen to those living on our planet. Plant roses or your favorite flowering plants, bringing even more beauty to your surroundings and a smile to your neighbors faces!
7) If you insist on giving your guests “favors” seriously consider that gift be a small tree seedling that can be planted, and remembered for generations that “this is Mia and Jim’s tree – reminding them each time glimpsed of the couple for whom it was planted.
If you would like to join with others across the nation as we begin our campaign to spread the Spirit of Kindness and Philanthropy around the world, please fill out the registration form to the left and add your name to the list!
